Arriving to Colorado

If you’ve never been here before, Boulder sits at 5,300+ feet above sea level. The best way to adjust to the altitude change is to drink a lot of water and stay well hydrated when you arrive and maybe don’t try to run a marathon on your first day here.

The sun is intense, but the dry climate makes the summer feel wonderfully refreshing in the shade with a little breeze. In the past few weeks, summer got a strong start with temps in the 70-90s and lows of 50-60s. The dry temps can often feel cooler than the same temps in more humid regions, so a long sleeve shirt or light jacket/sweater might be nice for the mornings and evenings.

Wedding shuttle

The shuttle will pick up guests in front of the Hotel Boulderado in downtown Boulder. It will be a medium-sized white shuttle with “Green Ride Charter Services” on it and they will have a sign that says “April & Mark’s Wedding.” The shuttle will pull up in front of the hotel’s main entrance on 13th St. If the loading zone is full, it may pull up around the corner in front of the newspaper boxes on the Spruce St side of the hotel. Please be at the pick-up spot by 1:15 pm.

Wedding parking

Once you turn into Lone Hawk Farm’s driveway, drive all the way to the end until you get to a large dirt parking lot past the event barn. Feel free to park anywhere in the lot (please keep all vehicles off the lawn). Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to get settled before the ceremony starts at 2 pm.

Morning brunch location

We live in the little house on the back of the lot so our driveway/path is actually on Sumac Ave, the next street over. Please drive down Sumac instead of Topaz and our gravel driveway will be 2/3rds down the street on the left. Park anywhere near our house/driveway along Sumac (it’s a dead end street). We will be set up in the side yard or patio area and should be easy to spot. If you are on Topaz, walk straight through the front house’s driveway to our house then turn left to the side yard. General info

The closest airport is the Denver International Airport (DEN), which is a ~50 min drive (with no traffic) from Boulder. The wedding venue, Lone Hawk Farm, is a ~1hr 15 min drive (with no traffic) from the airport and a ~20 min drive from downtown Boulder.

Getting around

For getting around once you land, the best options may be to:

1. Carpool
2. Rent a car at the airport
3. Take the AB1 bus from the airport to Boulder (details below) and get around town by:
   • Renting a car in Boulder
   • Rideshare
   • Bikeshare
   • Bus

Rental cars

If you want to rent a car at the airport, see the search button below. If you want to rent a car in Boulder, there is an Enterprise right near downtown and a Hertz & Avis not too far from there. They are marked on our wedding map.

AB1 airport bus

The AB1 bus is super convenient (the bus stop is directly below the airport terminal, not too much walking) and a comfortable ride to Boulder and lets you enjoy the scenery especially as you enter the Boulder Valley. You would ride it from end to end (airport to downtown Boulder bus station) unless you wanted to get off at one of the earlier stops in Boulder. Cost is $10 each way, less for seniors.

Boulder bikeshare

If you’re feeling adventurous, you can use Boulder BCycle’s bikeshare system. There’s a real-time map of bike availability on their website.

Boulder city buses

Probably the most helpful bus is the HOP bus, which goes up and down Pearl St and around the University of Colorado campus.
